Perhaps the best thing we can offer nervous or anxious patients is light sedation. We’re proud to have a highly trained sedation dentist, Dr Ronit Patel, at our dental practice. He’s been treating nervous patients for over 10 years with Intravenous (IV) sedation.
So, if you struggle with dental anxiety, have a strong gag reflex or are undergoing lengthy surgical procedures or oral surgery, Ronit will help you to feel calm and relaxed. He also provides acupuncture if you need further relaxation before treatment.

Yes. IV sedation is a commonly used option for nervous patients. It’ll be administered and monitored by Dr Patel, a highly trained sedation dentist, to ensure complete comfort and well-being throughout your procedure. Before your appointment, we’ll review your medical history to ensure it’s right for you.
No. IV sedation is not the same as general anaesthesia. You’ll remain awake so you can respond to simple instructions, but you’ll feel deeply relaxed. Most patients feel as though they’ve had a nap and have little to no recollection of their treatment.
It varies. Most patients feel a little groggy for a few hours after. You will need a friend or family member to drive you home, and we recommend taking the remainder of the day to rest up. Most people feel back to normal the next day.
